- Authors
Murray, Edward Joseph; Puthoff-Murray, Carol A.
- Abstract
The article discusses the effects of positive and negative thoughts on emotions and behavior of a person. It highlights two studies that determine the relationship between emotional inductions and cognitions that engaged the totality of the person. It also notes the rational-emotive therapy, which emphasizes that beliefs and cognitions produce emotionalized output and experiences of anxiousness, worthlessness, and depression. Furthermore, it points out that the findings about anxiety contribute to findings that it can cause increased depression and an external locus of control.
