- Abstract
The article discusses the historical and theoretical aspects of moral economies in early modern land markets, and it mentions the history of the Chinese economy, land markets in places such as Japan and England, and information about legal and customary constraints against land alienation. Market exchange and the history of property rights are addressed, along with self-interest and the moral and economic aspects of buying and selling land.
