The article discusses the strategies used by municipalities of Alberta, in Canada in generating revenue through property taxes, user fees for services, and licensing systems. Topics discussed include metropolitan planning in Alberta with regional planning frameworks in various parts of Alberta province; effect of municipal revenue generation on land development; and mentions the involvement of investments of capital on land for constructing dwellings of a fixed size.
