- Authors
Brooker, R.; Munday, P.; Jones, G.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the masquerade behaviour of harlequin filefish, Oxymonacanthus longirostris, with Acropora corals during nocturnal and crepuscular periods. It says that the masquerade behaviour allows fish to remain misidentified by potential predators during the highest predation period. It mentions that during the process of masquerading, fish select its position by using caudal, dorsal, and anal fins, and maintained its place until after dawn.
