EL DERECHO ORIENTAL DESDE LA PROMULGACIÓN DEL CIC Y DEL CCEO.
- Authors
GEFAELL, PABLO
- Abstract
The promulgation in 1990 of the CCEO has favored the reflection on the interrelation of the secondary legal systems of the unique primary legal system of the Church. Moreover, the current presence of oriental Christian immigrants in the West demands suitable pastoral and canonical responses on the part of the Latin Church. The author covers the principal documents on the oriental Churches published since the promulgation of the CIC of 1983, and offers a panoramic outlook of the authors and congresses which, during these years, are primarily dedicated to the study of the oriental Canon Law. Some comparisons between the Oriental and the Latin disciplines are briefly enunciated and also interesting items on the hierarchical oriental organization are illustrated. Finally, some points on the pastoral attention of the oriental Catholics who live outside the territory of their Churches are treated, and also some interesting issues on the relations with the orthodox.
