- Title
Vortex flow formation during dielectric barrier discharge initiation in quiescent air.

- Abstract
The structure of vortex flows generated by dielectric barrier discharge initiated in quiescent air at atmospheric pressure has been studied by the methods of particle image velocimetry and schlieren photography. The flow parameters have been measured as functions of the time past the electric discharge onset. A secondary vortex arising over the exposed electrode surface has been revealed for the first time. The influence of the electric parameters of discharge and the configuration of electrodes on the velocity and vorticity of the flow induced by the discharge in air has been determined.
