- Abstract
The article presents a study to find whether the added caries protection afforded by fluoride releasing composite is due to its fluoride releasing capabilities rather than its superior bonding ability. For the study, two composites were prepared: a fluoride-releasing composite and a chloride-releasing composite. To prepare the cured resins, equal proportions of each part were mixed. In the study, thirty-three extracted human permanent molars were used. They were cleaned with pumice and water and examined for white spot lesions, hypoplasia or cracks.
