- Authors
Button, Gilbert L.; Crockett, William D.
- Abstract
The article discusses the matrix technique used for the Class IV acid-etch composite resin restorations. It highlights the modifications of the plastic crown forms technique which has been employed for Class IV defects. It indicates the use of 1 millimeter 45° angle cavosurface bevel for tooth preparation and rubber dam for the isolation and cleansing of the tooth. It reveals that the modified technique has presented several advantages compared to the standard technique which include increasing stability, providing adequate contour and contact, as well as decreasing voids during the use of syringe.
