- Title
Ruth 4.
- Authors
Mann, Thomas W.
- Abstract
The article discusses the levirate marriage between Ruth and Boaz and on property redemption that was cited in chapter 4 of the book of Ruth in "Revised Common Lectionary." It states that chapter 4 shows that family loyalty links property and progeny, such as Boaz's redeeming which it says stems from Ruth's fidelity to her family. It says that it is not always a patriarchal system that is to be followed. It adds that the story showing Ruth's fidelity can be significant to families of the earth.
