- Abstract
The article discusses the work of Baptist missions leader and publisher Annie Armstrong, who was known for her role as Corresponding Secretary of the organization Woman's Missionary Union (WMU), part of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). It is said that she worked with the Baltimore Baptist Association of Baltimore, Maryland to organize the Maryland Baptist Mission Rooms, which published missions literature, while corresponding with missionaries. Armstrong's work in the financial aspect of Baptist missions is noted, along with conflicts with male Baptist officials and WMU president Fannie Heck.
