- Title
The Ambiguity of Historical Study: Was Mullins Right or Wrong About Confessions?
- Authors
Pleasants, Phyllis Rodgerson
- Abstract
The article focuses on the historical study on the views of Baptist theologian E. Y. Mullins on confessions. It notes that the controversy within the religious circles over evolution led to the development of the Baptist Faith and Message (BFM) Committee. It cites that Mullins chaired the committee charged with the examining the situation of science and religion. It says that the BFM Committee recommended a revision of the New Hampshire Confession of Faith with a prologue affirming that Christianity is supernatural in its history.
