- Authors
Graham, Chris
- Abstract
This article examines prospects for the U.S. National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform which was established by President Barack Obama in February 2010 to address the fiscal challenges facing the country. The commission is composed of 18 members who are appointed by Democrats and Republicans. It expects defense spending and tax policy issues to receive heavy scrutiny from the commission. Senator Tom Coburn is a supporter of the idea of revising the Pentagon's budget, as well as eliminating some tax expenditures.
