- Title
Infection of Tomato Seedlings by Colletotrichum coccodes (Wallr.) Hughes.
- Authors
Dunn, E.; Roy, A. K.
- Abstract
This article discusses the effect of Colletotrichum coccodes which causes black dot of tomatoes on the germination of tomato seedlings. There is general agreement that the fungus can attack tomato roots when there is sufficient mycelium at the root zone. The disease caused light brown to brown lesions on the hypocotyl and/or radicle at the time of emergence. The sterilized soil was inoculated with Colletotrichum coccodes in a series of petri dishes to confirm pathogenicity.
