- Authors
Kuehn, Bridget M.
- Abstract
The article reports that the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) is recommending that primary care physicians do more to encourage breastfeeding. The USPSTF found evidence of the effectiveness of supportive interventions. Formal breastfeeding instruction, office-based interventions, hospital-based interventions, and postdischarge support were studied. The USPSTF review included evidence from the Promotion of Breastfeeding Intervention Trial conducted in the Republic of Belarus.
