- Title
Nosocomial Transmission of Human Granulocytic Anaplasmosis?
- Authors
Krause, Peter J.; Wormser, Gary P.
- Abstract
The authors comment on the study of nosocomial transmission of human granulocytic anaplasmosis (HGA) presented in the issue. They note that the clinical findings in the cases described in the study were atypical for HGA. They believe that the manner of transmission would be unlikely in the U.S. They explain that there is limited evidence for transmission to humans through blood transfusion. They note that the report reinforces the importance of adopting standard blood and body fluid precautions.
