- Abstract
This article offers the story of an Iraqi physician who suffered torture at the hands of the state and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. The author went to Iraq seeking stories of torture victims from doctors never expecting they would be the ones treated so badly. The Iraqi doctor tells his story to the author as a witness to the torture of people in Iraq who had committed no crime. The two stories that haunt him are the case of a man they set on fire while he was alive and of an infant they killed by throwing it against the wall.
