- Abstract
The azalea is an ornamental plant, the Ericaceae family, propagated by cuttings. In many cases your roots is difficult, resulting in low production of seedlings. The aim of this study was to evaluate the use of NAA and IBA and different lengths of cuttings on the rooting of cuttings of azalea. The experimental design was completely randomized with eight repetitions for the first experiment (stakes lengths of 10, 12 and 15 cm) and five repetitions for the second experiment with different concentrations of AIB and ANA which consisted of 10 treatments (0, 5000, 6000, 7000 and 8000 mg L-1 AIB and 0, 2000, 4000, 6000 and 8000 mg L-1 ANA). Were evaluated at 30 and 60 days, the number of viable plants and the number of shoots. At 90 days, the variables were analyzed rooted plants and the longest root length (cm). The results showed no differences for rooting of absence or presence of AIB. There was ANA's contribution to the rooting of azalea cuttings, however, to experiment with different sizes of stakes, the stakes of 10 cm are superior in the variable viable plants and plants rooted to 90 days.
