- Abstract
In entrepreneurship research, few studies have explored the transfer of a company to a team of successors, either in the literature on business transfers or in the literature on entrepreneurial teams. Based on a longitudinal study of two cases, this article provides knowledge about the relationship between the mode of formation of these teams and the difficulties they face. It highlights the strong influence of the previous owner on the progress of this particular type of succession and identifies three factors that appear to be important sources of failures for these teams.
