- Abstract
This study is an attempt to explore Iranian adolescents' perspectives on friendship and health. Purposeful sampling was used (n=41). Interviews were recorded and transcribed for further analysis. Results showed three main themes, two of which are the focus of this paper as: positive and negative impact of peers, friendship with the opposite sex. To maintain a healthy society, considering the multilayered dimensions of adolescence and recognition its characteristics is critical for families, teachers, curriculum planners, health workers and policy makers
