An interview is presented with Jerry W. Ward, Jr., professor of English and African World Studies at Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana. When asked about researching author Richard Wright, he mentions reading the book "Uncle Tom's Children" and his background in literary theory and criticism. When asked about the difference between the books "Black Boy" and "American Hunger," he talks about life during the Jim Crow era. Other topics include alienation, and interdisciplinary research.
