- Abstract
The article discusses issues concerning medical or psychiatric treatment over objection (TOO) to a patient. Topics include case example of a 38-year-old man who encountered an administrative delay in permitting TOO for treatment of his psychiatric disorder, basic principles in the ethical framework for TOO, and possible consequences of providers' lack of knowledge about legal and ethical perspectives and roles regarding TOO.
