- Abstract
The authors reflect on the significance of the physical environment in improving patient safety. They state that physical design of environment, which is among the five components affecting healthcare, is given less attention yet can substantially influence patient's safety directly or indirectly. The authors suggest to redesign healthcare facilities, considering patient safety and quality of care on design decisions.
