- Title
Gufei Halachot: On "Body Worlds" and the Public Display of Human Remains.
- Authors
Prouser, Joseph H.
- Abstract
The article discusses the ongoing debate and contention regarding the public display of human cadavers at a traveling exhibition called "Body Worlds." The public display of the executed criminal's cadaver in some countries was viewed with disdain in Israel as the book of Deuteronomy implies that the remains of a criminal must be buried on the day of his death. It records several practices of the preservation of human remains in the Jewish history.
