- Title
THE CUBAN CONUNDRUM: PROPOSING AN INTERNATIONAL TRADEMARK REGISTRY FOR WELL-KNOWN FOREIGN MARKS.
- Authors
PAVA, MINDY
- Abstract
In this article the author explores the trademark disputes between the U.S. and Cuba. He says that the signatory states of the Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) should consider marks to receive protection against imitations. He emphasizes that the states can punish Cuba's transgressions without impacting the international intellectual property rights. He stresses that lawmakers must determine if prohibiting the Cuban registration marks is worth the risk.
