- Abstract
The article discusses the graduate teaching culture in which the students are prepared to become faculty in major universities in which they can run their own research programs. It states that existing graduate education system is broken which can be mended by focusing on change in culture where faculty and administrators support career opportunities outside academic research and coursework of Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) be such that it helps them to excel outside academia.
