- Authors
Lyman, Stewart
- Abstract
The article discusses problems of scientists about having little or no access to biomedical literature when there are more papers being published and concerns about low productivity and drug development. It mentions the rising costs of subscriptions, the increase of open source and free online journals including those by PubMed Central and Public Library of Science (PLoS). It also notes the advocacy group Biotechnology Industry Organization and solutions for more access to studies including making partnership deals with big pharmaceutical companies.
