- Abstract
The article reports on a case of cottontail rabbit pappilomavirus in Langerhans cells in Sylvilagus species. Post-mortem examination revealed the presence of pigmented lesions arising from the skin of the head surrounding the ears, eyes, nares, mouth and dorsum. Results of histological examination showed stratified squamous epithelial cells with central cores of fibrovascular connective tissue and parakeratotic hyperkeratosis lining the multiple papillary masses. Observation also showed swollen cells of the Stratum spinosum.
