- Abstract
The article discusses the inquiry process of the National Human Rights Consultation (NHRC) in engaging public in the human rights issues in Australia. It says that the NHRC Committee (NHRCC) promotes democratic engagement through opinion survey, public hearings, and online forum. It assesses the NHRC consultation process through the evaluation framework which was developed for the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2). It concludes that the process lacks deliberative design.
