- Abstract
The article focuses on issues surrounding the amendment of the Rule 404(b) of the Tennessee Rules of Evidence that bars admission of evidence of other crimes, wrongs, or acts in order to prove the character of a "person". Topics discussed include the Tennessee Supreme Court's decision in case State v. Stevens that dealt with the use of the word "person" in the rule to address the defendant in a criminal case, and application of the Federal Rule of Evidence 404(b) to civil and criminal cases.
