- Abstract
The article discusses the integration of colonies in the British Empire and Commonwealth into the Olympic Games movement and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in the post-World War II period, particularly focusing on the years 1948 to 1962. It examines British colonial policy and comments on the creation of National Olympic Committees (NOCs) in Anglophone Africa. The author also addresses the role of London, England in hosting the 1948 Olympic Games and the Olympic participation of indigenous peoples.
