The article explores the inspiration for the interest of English writers Catherine Morland and Jane Austen for gothic fantasy. According to the author, the only injured and ill-fated nun who left behind some gothic literature for the novelists was Sister Saint Anna who was introduced in the novel "Ancient Records," by T. J.
