- Abstract
The efficacy of femoropopliteal bypass to the isolated popliteal artery segment (IPAS) for limb salvage has been reported. The purpose of this study was to determine if a femoropopliteal bypass to the IPAS in a limb with below-the-knee amputation (BKA) would function. A case report describes a patient with a nonhealing BKA wound in whom a reversed saphenous vein femoropopliteal bypass to the IPAS was performed. The bypass graft functioned well and the amputation wound healed. The patient has been rehabilitated to ambulation with artificial prosthesis.
