- Abstract
The article presents information on the decommissioning process of the A59 building, that formerly housed nuclear power generation unit, undertaken by the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority. The various stages of decommissioning include, closure of steel-lined penetrations, decontamination and decommissioning of the ventilation systems, decontamination of floors and released items, and the demolition of building, cave line and base slab. The contract for the demolition of the building has been awarded to NUKEM Inc.
