- Abstract
The article provides an analysis of the procedure and complications of deep brain stimulation (DBS) as a treatment for movement disorders such as tremors. It cites that DBS is considered as an elective neurosurgical procedure, which uses neurostimulation system to override the output of abnormal nuclei controlling the movement. It notes that well-established guidelines are provided patient selection with the support from neuropsychologists, neurologists and neurosurgeons.
