- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 64-year-old male who was transferred from a mental health center to a nursing home due to depression and suicide attempts to end uncontrollable pain. On examination, sensory loss was discovered and the differential diagnosis included cervical spinal myelopathy (CSM) and postpolio syndrome. The appropriate treatment for symptomatic patients involves surgical decompression since the efficacy of the treatment for CSM lack prospective controlled studies.
