- Title
Evidence-based medicine: The pearls in the medical literature.
- Authors
Essary, Alison C.; Brenneman, Anthony E.
- Abstract
The authors reflect on evidence-based medicine (EBM), a method of applying current, proven practices to patient care. They state that this method can actually help physician assistants to quickly obtain information for clinical decision making. They mention that because of limited time, it gets difficult for the assistants to extract information useful for the patients. Thus, the authors suggest that emphasis should be on learning how to use and apply EBM rather than becoming an analysis expert.
