Title
Solid-State GaN Power Amplifiers for Weather Radar Systems.
Abstract
The article features the TR-3600 solid-state power amplifier (SSPA) developed by Pulse Systems (PSI) by taking advantage of advances in solid state gallium nitride (GaN) high-power radio frequency (RF) transistor technology. Topics discussed include advantages to using a solid-state radar over a conventional magnetron, key specifications, and functional components and architecture of the TR-3600 Solid-State Weather Radar Transmitter assembly that goes into the rack.
