- Abstract
The article discusses the disaster management techniques of Tri-City Medical Center (TCMC) in Oceanside, California. It recalls the five major wildfires in San Diego County in October 2007 which affected thousands of residents. It relates the effort of Kevin McQueen, operations manager of the pulmonary services department of TCMC, and his disaster team in dealing and administering the surge of patients. It also mentions McQueen's recommendations for hospitals to be prepared in disaster events.
