- Abstract
The article announces the discovery of the first two potential exoplanets discovered by Planet Hunters users in 2011 in a study published in the "Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society." Yale University astronomers noted that this is the first time that the public has used data from a U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) space mission to detect possible planets orbiting other stars. The online citizen-science project Planet Hunters was launched in December 2010.
