The article presents the author's perspective on the improvement of industrial minerals production in 2011 in the U.S. He reveals that the production of industrial minerals has increased by three percent to about $36.9 billion, which represented about half of the value of nonfuel raw mineral materials produced in the country. He also notes the 2012 North American Tunneling (NAT) conference for the tunneling and underground construction professionals.
