- Abstract
The article focuses on a case of leukemia in a 16-year-old unmarried girl in India who primarily presented with fever and ulcerative lesions over her external genitalia. The differential diagnoses were genital infection with reactive arthritis, primary autoimmune disease and acute leukemia. Broad-spectrum antibiotics appropriate to the sensitivity pattern of cultured Escherichia coli were administered to the patient. The only clue to the underlying leukemia was thrombocytopenia.
