Conclusion: Harmonization as a transformative force.
- Authors
Walt, C.
- Abstract
The author offers observation on harmonization as a transformative force in the context of African languages. Topics discussed include role played by English as a global language, economic advantages of a standardized language, and distinction between standardized language and language standards. She reveals that as a teacher she wanted to know how language acquisition and status planning can happen without a label and a relatively stable structure for a particular group of codes.
