- Abstract
The article focuses on mandatory arbitration, an effective system of dispute resolution through an arbitration process, in the U.S. and discusses the expansive process of arbitration. It reports that mandatory arbitration is an effective tool to regulate commerce, workplace and interpersonal relationships. It presents an analysis of historical events of mandatory arbitration including Prima Paint Corp. v. Flood and Conklin Manufacturing Co., First Options of Chicago Inc. v. Kaplan and Buckeye Check Cashing Inc. v. Cardegna. It reports that historical antecedents of mandatory arbitration will continue to flourish and expand in the country. It discusses the benefits of arbitration which provides user-friendly process which is efficient and cheaper than litigation.
