- Abstract
Gramscian studies, following the same process as many other theoretical traditions, ended up for decades restricted to certain regions in which some conditions were ensured by civil societies. In the case of Brazil, this is quite evident and should hypothetically be the situation in other countries in Latin America. The reasons are many, with the concentration of knowledge production centers being one of the most important. In any case, in a society like the Brazilian one, in which the historical formation did not follow a single and homogeneous process, spreading Gramscian thought beyond the big cities is not only possible, but also necessary. Since Antonio Gramsci is also an author from the peripheries of the world, his insertion in social, political, economic, and cultural spaces not characterized by developed capitalism, can result in important theoretical and political contributions.
