- Title
CATALAN FARMHOUSE IN THE TYPE OF MASIA.
- Authors
Arlet, Piotr
- Abstract
Until the mid 20th c., houses with typical facades, referred to in the Catalan language as masia, prevailed in the landscape of south-east Spain and south-west France. Apart from their slight inclination of roofs, the houses had a sizable gable wall in the front and a mostly symmetrical composition. In his article, the author presents masia as part of large vernacular architecture structures which were developed in the distant past.
