- Title
Toward Improving the Function of Curriculum Consultant.
- Authors
Dixon, Norman R.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the proposal to increase the use of curriculum consultant in the U.S. The increasing need for the function may be attributed to the following factors: complexity of contemporary society and the concomitant intense specialization. A consultant may assist a group in locating and defining problems; help evaluate the program; aid a group in selecting alternatives; and assist them in determining next moves. He may lead consultees into cooperative reassessment of goals and possible solutions. In addition, he may help improve the schools and in the in-service education of college graduates.
