- Abstract
The article discusses the book "The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo," by Stieg Larsson, the 2008 film adaptation "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," directed by Niels Arden Oplev and its 2011 film adaptation of the same name, directed David Fincher. Particular focus is given to the depiction of the fictitious character Lisbeth Salander in the works, including what is referred to the visual language of her body and the relationship between visual pleasure and mortification.
