- Abstract
The authors discuss the results of their study which compares the mortality and morbidity among patients treated with endovascular revascularization (ER) and surgical revascularization (SR) for chronic mesenteric ischemia. The odd ratio for perioperative mortality for all patients was 0.78%. No significant difference was reported between SR and ER with regards to longer term mortality. They also found that SR had superior longer term patency rates.
