- Abstract
The absorption cross section for the energy of an electric field aligned with the symmetry axis of a cylindrical metal particle is calculated. The radius of the particle is assumed to be much smaller than its length. As the boundary condition of the problem, diffuse reflection of electrons from the inner surface of the particle is taken. Limiting cases are considered, and the results obtained are discussed. © 2005 Pleiades Publishing, Inc.
