- Abstract
The article discusses the class action litigation filed by the Southern Center for Human Rights and the American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia to stop implementation of HB 1059. It discusses the definition of the term sex offender under the Georgia law and the adoption of U.S. House Bill 1059. It also offers information on the state's preparations for a mass eviction of sex offenders and the plaintiffs' preparations to challenge the eviction. The author contemplates on the state of the law with respect to sex offender residence restrictions in the U.S. and a shift in public opinion in Georgia.
